Prevent the renaming of Mosquito Lake State Park to "Donald J Trump State park"

Prevent the renaming of Mosquito Lake State Park to "Donald J Trump State park"

The Issue

Growing up I always loved to visit mosquito lake state park. I volunteer through the park to help monitor and promote our native cavity nesting birds populations (like blue birds and tree swallows), and prevent the overgrowth of invasive house sparrows. I love visiting the dog park and the beach and the campgrounds there. When it came time to find a venue for my wedding, there was no question: I had it in the woods by the lake. But more than anything, I value mosquito lake state park for it's contribution to the protection of our native species and natural wetlands.

A large section of mosquito lake is a protected wetland wildlife area, and thousands of people rely on the water from mosquito lake for drinking water. It is not an option to rename the park after a president that would've desired the destruction of it's natural beauty.

Even more so, there is no reason to rename the park. It would cost unnecessary tax dollars to replace all the signs, and it would no longer hold the sentimental value that the name provides to so many citizens of trumbull and surrounding counties. There is no need to politicize a state park.

Please sign this petition to let our representatives know that we are NOT in favor of this name change. Don't let them waste tax dollars on such a frivolous and unfitting change.
