The Humboldt Park Beach is a lagoon situated inside Humboldt Park on the west side of Chicago. Every summer, families flock to the beach to enjoy the sun and water. When so many resources are usually poured into wealthier areas of the city, the beach is a lovely little hidden gem for working citizens of Chicago. Once again, the beach is under threat of not opening without any community input, ideas, or attempts to think about ways help save costs. This petition asks the Chicago Park District to open the beach as scheduled, and if closure is possible, to get input from the community that loves and cherishes it.
