Justice For Kassandra Jackson started this petition to Governor Mike DeWine and

Kassandra Jackson was seeking a protection order when she was violently attacked by a judge and duties. She wanted to protect her family and is a single mother of two toddlers.

Nearly two years ago, a former magistrate Michael Bachman of Hamilton County performed an illegal arrest, stepping off of his bench and into the courthouse hallway. After hearing a loud noise, he violently grabbed her by the neck, held it there for more that 20 seconds and slammed her into a jury chair before signaling duties to brutally apprehend her for contempt of court.

Not only was he out of his line of duty, he was forced to resign or be fired following the release of the security camera footage of the incident on September 4, 2018.

1. Charges must be filed immediately. The judge and duties involved, specifically Michael Bachman, and any other law enforcement officer involved in the arrest of Kassandra Jackson must be fired, charged, and arrested immediately. There have been no charges thus far (it has been nearly 2 years). Their pensions must be revoked.

2. She must be paid in damages for wrongful imprisonment, the negligence of Hamilton County and any other damages seen fit.

3. Ohio Governor Mike Devine must speak up on behalf of Kassandra, and Mayor John Cranley must appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the Hamilton County Courthouse and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department immediately. An in-house investigation is unacceptable.

4. The “late can’t be served” protection order law the judge had used in Kassandra’s arrest completely violates the constitutional rights to a reasonable and fair trial. By law, magistrates must show compassion before ruling on any case. Legislation to federally ban time limits on when you can file a protection order must be passed in Congress and signed by the President; what happened to Kassandra was a complete violation of her constitutional rights, and threatens the rights of all American citizens. Former President Barack Obama has voiced similar concerns. A special session must be intervened by Congress to discuss the constitutionality of time limits on filing temporary protection order’s immediately.

This has carried on for over two years. For weeks, the city treated Kassandra like she was a criminal, calling her “loud” before finally admitting that she was an innocent, crimeless victim. She was distraught, upset and afraid for her life. She committed no crime.

Yet, she is traumatized by the incident, now and the perpetrators are facing no charges.

She was not only a victim of abuse, but an American citizen. She is a mother, a daughter, a survivor and most importantly, a person. She deserved to be treated as such.

Let’s get justice for Kassandra. Say her name.

PLEASE help me get the word out, and share this campaign on your social media platforms. Thank you to everyone who is helping in our fight to get justice for Kassandra Jackson.
