My 14 year old daughter was tormented to death - make bullying a crime
This petition had 43,282 supporters
Last Christmas my 14 yr old daughter committed suicide after relentless bullying by a group of thugs. She’s now dead, and they walk free.
The abuse was vile - they told Jessica to die, that she was an “ugly slut”, that “nobody would care if she killed herself.” Well she did kill herself and her revolting perpetrators remain unpunished.
It still doesn’t feel real, to be writing this petition without her here. Jessica will never go to her formal, finish school, learn to drive, get married or have children. Our lives have been destroyed, they’ll never understand our pain.
It’s so wrong, but bullying isn’t a crime in NSW. Until it becomes an offence kids like mine will continue to die.
We have heard from thousands of kids across Australia since we lost Jessica, many are at breaking point – but without any repercussions for their actions, perpetrators will continue.
Our story will air on SBS at 7:30pm TONIGHT (Tuesday 30th August) - we shared our story alongside lots of other brave families. We’d love you to tune in and watch. Here's the trailer.
Please sign to stop another family from going through this hell - make bullying a criminal offence in NSW.
