Mid-Cities Arlington Swimming (MARS) should NOT RUN the Bill Nixon Annual Swim Meet at ALL
The Issue
- This team is all around just selfish and greedy for money. If you haven’t noticed they spent a ton of money for that bull shit massive poster on the wall and the white speedo barrier which is completely useless.
- (IMPORTANT) I have learned that the head coach of MARS also works for the same company that makes those huge posters so if he charges more for the meet, his other company gets more money hence he will get more money.
- Back when Bill Nixon was thriving they would give a free tee shirt and water bottle and a bunch of other cool things in a drawstring bag. But this year they gave us a plastic roller that broke if you used it.
- MARS has no idea how to run a meet or get results out on time. They are supposed to print out results after the event is over but they were a good 5 events behind schedule every day. This would cause confusion and people would not know if they made it to finals. They also have to get results onto meet mobile but nooooo they don’t know HOW TO.
- The charge of admission is $20 and the people do not get receipts so if they lose their bracelet they have to pay another $20. Also at every other meet that has been held here we parents have been able to bring chairs into the stands. But this one meet hosted by MARS does not allow that.
- MARS had a person stationed at the entrance to the pool deck and they would not let you in unless you had your bag tag which is understandable but even if you had your bag tag your coach had to be on the pool deck in order to let you in which is ridiculous. This just crowded the lobby with swimmers waiting for their coaches to arrive.
- The meet is all around way more expensive than it was 2 years ago.
