Personally this is important to me due to the fact that i am a completionist and strive to 100% everything possible. So  when i see that a game i want to buy is 1 of these short-server enabled game, i simple dont buy.  Which is disapointing as i know myself and many others are missing out on some good games....

On microsoft's part, obviously it is a money game, and to be fair, gamers dont want to buy games in which they know these achievement exist simple to a server getting shut down within the first year or service( FIFA, PES, Forza, Endwar), gamers like myself are refusing to buy games that fall in to this stratergy.... Whether that means it a second hand game making £5 in a re-sale shop or £40 brand new.... I know plenty of gamers who are at odds with this and if this is resolved i believe microsoft will have a much bigger market to sell to..

Hopefully microsft will have it in thier heart to see how many gamers will support this cause.  As im aware Microsoft has the final say on which achievements make it in to the gamerscore list so im sure it could be done with a small patch per game.
