I was 14 when I had my first computer. I was amazed by it. The connection was extremely slow but It felt amazing.

Then I've met with Microsoft FrontPage. It was the year 1998. It immediately blew my mind. The UI, ease of use, fun, joy was so amazing. It was something like breeze.

We were creating crazy website layouts using tables and many crazy gifs. We were creative, no website looked the same those days.

I was curious about the code and it was very easy to understand the underlying logic. This little program inspired me to become a front-end engineer and I really appreciate that.

Nowadays, I am not happy about the technologies, tools, and many other things about our practices. It does not feel fun anymore. We have dozens of technologies like React, Vue, Bootstrap, CSS in JS, Svelte, Angular, Flutter, Ionic, Yarn, Npm, Tailwind, etc., or Tools that hardly could generate quality code without the bloat.

I do not like them.

I miss those days when CSS and HTML were enough to express yourself as a 14 years old kid and be creative without limits.

So, I ask you to sign this petition to ask Microsoft to revive the legendary Microsoft FrontPage inspire kids nowadays.

Thanks,
Midori
