At this year's E3 Microsoft announced a new initiative for Minecraft to allow for cross-platform play. This included mobile, PC, Xbox and Switch but not PlayStation. Sony chose to not allow cross-platform play on PS4 for completely valid reasons that everybody agreed made complete sense.

Many are disappointed as they would like to be able to be able to play with anybody else who plays the game online. The obvious solution to this problem is simple: make Minecraft online multiplayer exclusive to PS4.
