The Augusta metropolitan area is quickly growing with many technology focused colleges, companies and initiatives such as the Georgia Cyber Center and the Cyber Center of Excellence at Fort Gordon. Many thousands of new students come to Fort Gordon every year to learn Cyber Security, Networking, and specialize in many technology areas. Currently there is no electronics location meeting the need for specialized computing parts which sends businesses and enthusiasts to the internet to order electronics gear online. Micro Center is among the nation's leading information technology, communications, and electronic device suppliers serving general computing needs along with electronic hobbyist supplies with a great in stock selection. Not only would opening a Micro Center location in Augusta prove to be a great financial investment but would be a great service to the Service Members from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines stationed here and also those here for training. Micro Center need would also benefit the local community as well, as the GCCC and NSA Georgia also house thousands of technology personnel. Adding a Micro Center in the Augusta area would not only fill a currently missing need, but be a great service to the state of Georgia, local technology firms, many local college students, and to the service members of this great country.
