ThinkProgress recently reported that Michigan State University has invested $50 million of its endowment into Renaissance Technologies, a hedge fund whose CEO is Robert Mercer. Robert Mercer funds several white supremacist organizations like Breitbart and right-wing candidates like Kelly Ward. 

By investing in Mercer's hedge fund, MSU is having a direct impact on his profits, and his donations to white supremacist organizations as a result. 

We are calling on Michigan State University to #DIVESTMSU its $50 million from Mercer's hedge fund. The University should not be making investments off the backs of its marginalized student population.

We are also encouraging all those looking to make a difference to send an email to Dr. Philip Zecher, the Chief Investment Officer for MSU. His email is zecher@msu.edu. Although we recognize Dr. Zecher has a responsibility to ensure positive returns on MSU's endowment, we request he takes action to ensure  MSU's funds do not make their way into the hands of those like Robert Mercer.
