The State Senate is holding up legislation that would ensure fans like you can resell your unused tickets at fair market value without having to pay fees to state-sanctioned monopolies.

HB 5108, which passed the House in the spring, is a common sense reform that repeals an outdated 1930’s law that blocks fans from selling tickets to a sporting or live-entertainment event for more than face value unless you go through the venue’s preferred vendor (Ticketmaster or StubHub).

Michigan is one of a few states that limit fans’ right to use or resale their tickets however they choose, and HB 5108 allow Michigan to catchup to the rest of the country.
