Everyday animals are tortured by leg hold traps until the human who set the trap comes to kill them.  Most people who uses these traps are collecting furs.  Fur for use of clothing has been scretenized by society for years now by people demanding it be pulled off the shelves, so why not this practice of inhumane trapping?  A leg hold trap is made of steal.  It is spread apart and held against a very tight spring until an animal puts weight on the trigger that makes the trap snap shut.  The trap is made with teeth like holds, that dig into the animals leg.  The trap is pegged to the ground with a chain so the animal cannot run away.  Many animals, including humans and their pets are in danger of these traps.  Our local wildlife rescue recently saved a hawk that was caught in a leg hold trap.  A bald eagle was recently saved from a trap as well. The traps do not discriminate.  Animals caught in these traps have been known to try to chew off their legs due to the pain that the traps cause.  The inhumane traps need to go.  Let's come together and show our government that we as a society has had enough of these inhumane traps.  Let's petition our government by telling them that inhumane treatment of animals is no longer welcome in our society.  Let's raise our voice and demand justice for the thousands of animals that have suffered greatly for human greed.
