It is imperative that street lights are installed along the 0.4 mile range between the two intersections named above and a crosswalk midway to keep citizens in the community safe. There is a Citgo gas station on Glastonbury Road and a Party store on Rosemont Avenue. There are no lights or crosswalk for Oakland County residents to safely walk to the two nearest stores from their home. It is dark for over 12 hours during winter months. In the area, there have been a number of undocumented pedestrians hit by vehicles while crossing 8 Mile Road. However, we know of one death. Colleen Chandler, 35, lost her life while crossing from the lite streets of Wayne County's gas station to the unlite dark side of Oakland County roads. Colleen was hit & killed by a driver stating, he didn't see her. Colleen's life was one too many.

Please sign petition to have Oakland County install street post lights along the 7 minute, 2,112 ft walk from the Southfield FWY service drive to Greenview Street. Along with Wayne County painting a crosswalk on 8 Mile Rd from the Citgo gas station between Glastonbury Road and Rosemont Avenue across to the Oakland County side of road.
