There is a major problem here that we can no longer ignore. The abuse and mistreatment of wild animals in the entertainment industry, such as the circus. These animals are not meant to be side shows for humans but to roam free in their natural habitats happily and peacefully. The amount of wild animals being captured for human entertainment is at an all time high. Not only do these majestic animals have to worry about being poached and killed for their skin and tusks but once captured they are enslaved to perform for people at circuses and zoos. I, myself participated in going to the circus for the first time since childhood and after seeing the sadness and pain in these animals eyes, I was brought to tear that I could not control. The amount of people there that did not even think of these animals feelings was appalling. To me the sadness and neglect was so clear and for me, a Hispanic African American women I have read books from the past where we too were side shows for others at the circus. Even in my hometown. I could not bare to sit back and not do anything about it. Please help me as I try to free these animals and give them the life they truly deserve. Please see them as living things that deserve what god put them on this earth to do! Thank you!
