Tell These Two States: BAN BESTIALITY NOW!!!

Bestiality, or the disturbing human performance of sex acts on animals, is something people rarely hear about and many probably thought was consigned to the barbarity of history. However, studies have suggested that up to six percent of people around the United States (20 million) have engaged in bestiality at some point in their lives, and in two states-- New Mexico and West Virginia-- this despicable form of animal cruelty is still legal.
Bestiality was legal across the United States as recently as 1999. Between then and 2016, 37 states banned the practice, and, by 2021, another 11 had done so. These laws have been passed in deep red, deep blue, and purple states with unanimous support in most cases, which makes it easy for lawmakers in these two states to get this done. Wyoming and Hawaii, one red and one blue, both banned beastiality earlier this year. Now, West Virginia and New Mexico, one red and one blue, must do the same thing and finish the job.
Because of these two states, America, a nation that prides itself on tolerance and progressive thinking, continues to be a place where one of the most disgusting forms of cruelty toward other species is perpetuated, and, if we truly want to help animals in these two states, at the federal level, and all around the world, it is time for New Mexico and West Virginia to ban bestiality!!!
