We need your help and support to re-open youth sports in New Mexico!  It has been a year since New Mexico kids have been allowed to play their sport/games in our state, (soccer, football, baseball, basketball, volleyball, among others).  We previously provided to the Governor’s office a safe re-opening plan and have continued our communications with them; however, youth sports are still unattended to.

Did you know that New Mexico is the ONLY State in the country that has not allowed youth sports to re-open!  49 other states have successfully allowed youth sports leagues to play during the pandemic and have done so safely without spread of COVID.  It is time to make New Mexico’s youth a priority!   We know youth sports can be played safely based on the successes that have been demonstrated from other states and it is incumbent upon us to re-open youth sports post haste in NM. 

The prolonged closures have increased concerns for the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of our NM kids.  We need to act fast.  It is undisputed that sports activities can help kids with self-esteem, confidence and overall physical and emotional wellbeing so why would we not make youth sports re-opening a priority? The New Mexico youth sports communities are ready to open following the necessary safety protocols.
