My name is Eric Cortez , I’m 20 years of age also youngest son of Michelle Jones.I greatly appreciate you all for taking the time to hear me out.

      My mother Michelle Jones has been facing life in prison/ without the possibility of parol (LWOP) for 19 years.
     
        When I was 1 year old my Mother was convicted of Aiding and Abetting of first Degree Murder. I haven’t seen her since, my whole childhood she was hidden from me because she was seen as a mistake.

          My mom has dedicated her whole down time to helping others. Such as making dresses for little girls, making face mask for the pandemic ,showing individuals the right way to a new life. She even stars in Joe Tomaso podcast explaining to individuals how to cope with their emotions, how to ask for help when needed, to not be ashamed of who you are. She can interpret a situation and understand how it has to be fixed , which can help many people on making the right decisions.

           She has grown so much, but how much can you really grow inside of a place where people don’t want to change? It’s like a sunflower in a little pot , eventually you’ll have to plant it outside. I strongly believe she deserves a second chance to come back home to her Amazing family. Here she’ll have so much support, she’ll have a place to call home, she’ll have love, she’ll have many more opportunities at life then she does now.

           I understand completely why she is there, but when a person is fully remorseful for what they done and they want to change, why throw them away forever? She’s not in there to throw her life away, she is in there because she needed rehabilitation and she is fully recovered. Please give my Mother a second chance to come home and educate and share her wisdom with us and others. Thank you for your time- Eric Cortez
