Roots of Morality started this petition to Michelin

Every year Michelin praises high-end restaurants with their prestigious stars. Giving these restaurants a high status. Members of a jury subject the restaurants and their chefs to a number of critical points, such as quality of products, mastering cooking techniques, consistency and even the personality of the kitchen staff.

The problem here is that animal lives are no way a critical point in the rating of those restaurants. Numerous restaurants holding Michelin stars still offer Foie Gras on their menus, Foie Gras is defined as the liver of a duck or goose fattened by force-feeding corn with a feeding tube, an extremely painful process, literally making the animals sick. The production process of Foie Gras is so horrific that it has already been banned in 16 countries!

Demands

- Roots of Morality is now urging Michelin to make animal cruelty one of the critical points in their rating of restaurants.

- Roots of Morality is now urging Michelin to not rate any restaurant with a star offering Foie Gras on their menu.

Why is this so important?

High end restaurants - and in particularly the ones holding Michelin stars - are a role model in the culinary world. Chefs from all over the planet look up to star-chefs and take their example in their own work, (extreme) animal cruelty can never be an example.

We need your help!

Let your voice be one for the animals in need. Sign our petition, which we're going to hand over to Michelin, in order to end this as soon as possible.
