Ban 19+ Shows at Danforth Music Hall: Music has no age and should not be limited.

The Danforth Music Hall has been a beautiful venue for seeing musicians since it first opened as a concert hall in the 1970’s, and continues to be. But sadly, we, as the future musicians, writers, poets, and creative minds of this generation, are facing a problem, the rigid age restriction to see our favourite bands. It is especially frustrating at a venue such as the Danforth, since only select shows are 19+ for no apparent reason, (under 19 wristbands are a very acceptable form of regulation) except for the fact that it will be cheaper for the money hungry managers, owners and higher-ups controlling who we can and cannot see and support. That’s why I, as a youth who has been turned away from seeing one of my favourite bands at the door, want to change that, I say, why put restrictions on music? Since when does art have limitations? What I want to change, is the 19+ admission rule for any artist featured at the Danforth Music Hall. There are so many different ways to regulate alcohol consumption, why choose to discriminate against an entire portion of fans just because you are too cheap to hand out wristbands or hire bartenders who will I.D? Danforth Music Hall, this has to change. #musichasnoage
