Ryanair Play Fair

The Issue

We booked Ryanair flights to Cyprus pre-Covid19 restrictions and without knowledge of the impending pandemic.

We were due to fly to Cyprus from UK on 22 July 2020, however the Cypriot Government are currently not allowing entry to Cyprus by UK tourists and are not considering to revise this until 01 August 2020 at the earliest.

Ryanair customer service say they are not cancelling the flight and will still fly to Cyprus and state that as they are still providing a service (the flight), they do not have to cancel bookings, refund passengers or offer free flight change to another date as it’s NOT THEIR PROBLEM that the  Cypriot Government has imposed this restriction due to COVID-19.

Even changing the flights has an extra charge which may not be suitable for some people. To change flights to a later date customers are having to pay the difference in flights and also the change fees which for a family of 6 can add an extra £400-600+ to the already paid costs of £2000 flights which were booked before any pre-Covid restrictions.

We ask Ryanair, Michael O’Leary CEO,  Ryanair shareholders to reconsider and refund flights or at least honour the flights at a later date for the same price to those of us who are caught in this unfair position. Ryanair are currently advertising free flight changes if you book a new flight after 10 June 2020, but yet we are being penalised for booking flights pre any Covid 19 restrictions that we didn’t have a crystal ball to foresee.

Please help and sign this to make Ryanair reconsider this unfair situation.
