Liebe Petitionsunterzeichner:innen, das Ziel der Petition ist erreicht!

Nach drei Jahren und 10.683 Unterschriften ist es geschehen: Sowohl Hygieneinstitut als auch Mäusebunker wurden als Kulturdenkmale des Landes Berlin eingetragen und stehen unter Denkmalschutz!

Seit Beginn der Diskussion um die Zukunft der beiden Gebäude stand die Frage nach dem öffentlichen Interesse im Raum. Die große Beteiligung an der Petition hat sichtbar gemacht, dass in der Tat großes öffentliches Interesse besteht. Daher können wir mit gutem Gewissen sagen, dass wir – alle 10.683 Unterzeichner:innen – den wesentlichen Beitrag für den Erhalt von Mäusebunker und Hygieneinstitut geleistet haben.

Es ist ein Moment zum feiern und auch ein Moment voller Demut und Dankbarkeit, denn ohne die breite Unterstützung und dem Mitwirken so vieler Personen wäre dieser Erfolg sicher nicht möglich gewesen. Wir danken Ihnen allen aufs Herzlichste! Gunnar Klack & Felix Torkar

Dear petition signatories,

The goal of the petition has been achieved! After three years and 10,683 signatures, it happened: Both the Hygieneinstitut and the Mäusebunker have been granted heritage protection and were registered as cultural monuments of the State of Berlin!

From the very beginning of the discussion about the buildings’ status as potential heritage sites one question has been crucial: Is there enough public interest in the buildings to justify heritage protection? The huge resonance to the petition has made it clear that there is indeed great public interest. Therefore, we can confidently say that we—all 10,683 signatories—have made the essential contribution to the preservation of the Mäusebunker and the Hygieneinstitut.

It is a moment to celebrate and also a moment full of humble gratitude. Without the great deal of support and participation of so many people this success would certainly not have been possible. We sincerely thank you all.
