Michael Jackson Protect his legacy

Michael Jackson Protect his legacy
The Issue
PETITION TO RECONSIDER THE RELEASE OF “MICHAEL JACKSON: THE VERDICT”
We, the undersigned, respectfully ask Netflix and the creators behind “Michael Jackson: The Verdict” to reconsider the release and promotion of this documentary.
Michael Jackson was not only one of the greatest entertainers in history, but also a humanitarian who dedicated much of his life, time, and fortune to helping others around the world. His music brought people together across cultures, races, and generations with messages of peace, love, healing, and unity.
Throughout his lifetime, Michael Jackson supported countless charities and humanitarian causes, including children’s hospitals, HIV/AIDS research, disaster relief efforts, education programs, and organizations fighting poverty and world hunger. He was recognized in the Guinness World Records for supporting dozens of charities, and his philanthropic efforts inspired millions of people globally.
Songs such as “Heal the World,” “Man in the Mirror,” “Earth Song,” and “We Are the World” encouraged compassion, kindness, and social responsibility. His influence extended far beyond music — he inspired people to care about humanity and the planet itself.
We believe that continuing to release documentaries centered on accusations and controversy unfairly overshadows the positive legacy Michael Jackson left behind. While public discussion and journalism are important, repeated productions focused on allegations risk creating a one-sided narrative that ignores his acquittal in court, the testimonies of supporters, and the tremendous good he contributed to society.
This petition is not about silencing free speech. It is about asking media companies to approach Michael Jackson’s legacy with fairness, balance, and responsibility. Millions of fans around the world continue to admire him not only for his artistic genius, but for the hope and inspiration he gave to people during difficult times.
We ask Netflix to consider the impact this documentary may have on his family, children, fans, and the broader public memory of a man whose life’s work included extraordinary acts of generosity and compassion.
Michael Jackson’s legacy deserves to be remembered in full — including the love, charity, and unity he brought to the world.
