Justice for Zoe the Doberman

The Issue

Today, we lost our beloved Doberman Zoe.  Her invisible fence battery must have died without us knowing.  While we were gone, she wondered over into our neighbors yard who is scared of dogs. They called the sheriff.  By time the sheriff got to my house, Zoe was laying under a tree. The sheriff got out of his car and knocked on our door. When he didn't get an answer he walked out towards her. Zoe got up in an effort to protect her territory. As my husband was on his way home, which the sheriff was told, the sheriff shot her on top of head from a distance. She never tried to bite him or lunge at him. The sheriff's dept. said they would conduct a full investigation. There is no recourse that will bring her back, but hopefully justice will be done for what he did to our beautiful baby.

Why didn't the sheriff wait?

Why wasn't animal control called? She would have just went to the pound where at least she would have been safe until we picked her up.

This is happening so more often lately.  Why is it that our law enforcement feel's the need to take innocent life's for no reason. Zoe was doing what most humans naturally do on their own property, protect it, but she would never hurt a soul.

Please help us get justice for our sweet baby.
