Given Denver Mayor Michael Hancock's sudden interest in Denver Public Schools, a topic he has said in the past he had no jurisdiction over, we, the signatories, look forward to hearing how he'll reconsider using the 33 million dollars he allocated to the 16th street mall project for Denver Public Schools instead. We also look forward to his working with the Denver school board to build the trust he says is missing and to direct robust city resources towards making it safe to open schools again and to ensuing that teachers are supported and students are educated here in Denver.
