Abolish Denver's Pitbull Ban

The Issue

Since 2006 Denver and six other cities in Colorado have had bans on pitbulls to prevent dog attacks. Our goal is to lighten these ordinances or even completely abolish them. These ordinances cause pitbulls to lose their homes and also cost unaware pitbull owners lots of money. When these pitbulls are taken from their homes and sent to shelters, they are either left there or alternatively "euthanized". Last year alone, Denver removed 1,500 pitbulls from homes around the city. The worst part of these laws is that studies have shown, that the removal of pitbulls makes little to no difference in the prevention of dog attacks. According to  chicagoinjurycenter.com the number one breed that contributes to dog attacks each year is actually Labrador Retrievers. Will the city ban them? I think not. Please help us make a change and sign our petition.
