Debi & Michael Pearl, authors of the controversial, "Christian", self-instructing, "parenting" book - "To Train Up a Child" are now solely and directly responsible for the DOCUMENTED death of 3 children, and abuse and torture of several others. Who knows just how many more parents have murdered their own by following the techniques described in your book. They preach "Christian" values, but they do not follow them. The book is compiled of "discipline" techniques for children as young as 6 months. Some of the techniques include: 

• Using plastic tubing to beat children, since it hurts a lot but leaves fewer marks to alert authorities
• Wearing the plastic tubing around the parent's neck as a constant reminder to obey
• "Swatting" babies as young as six months old with instruments such as "a 12-inch willowy branch," thinner plastic tubing or a wooden spoon
• "Blanket training" babies by hitting them with an instrument if they try to crawl off a blanket on the floor
• Beating older children with rulers, paddles, belts and larger tree branches
• "Training" children with pain before they even disobey, in order to teach total obedience
• Giving cold water baths, putting children outside in cold weather and withholding meals as discipline
• Hosing off children who have potty training accidents
• Inflicting punishment until a child is "without breath to complain.

This is not even a suitable way to train your dog, nevermind your child. Sign my petition. And keep this book off of the shelves, before more children are MURDERED by parents following their instructions. By the way, I would just like to throw in the fact that Debi & Michael Pearl make $2 million per year off of their book which advocates how to beat your child.  Just let that sink in. They also have no education, no degree, and no training in child growth & development. They wrote this book from the bottom of their cold black hearts.
