Though many people believe that the series that followed “Avatar: The Last Airbender” called “The Legend of Korra” was a great series, I found one major plot-line very appalling.  That Plot-line was at the end of season 2 where Korra loses her connection to the past Avatars.  To make matters worse that mistake on behalf of the writers and producers was never corrected in the shows third or fourth seasons.  That and it seems that everyone else does not seem to think about it that much even though they should.

Writing out a connection like that is without a doubt no different than the idea of anyone in the world trying to erase and or destroy history itself.  Examples of how bad such an act can be traced back in both fictional and non-fictional history.  In terms of fiction, one example can be seen in an episode of the TV series “MacGyver” the original version, in Season 5 Episode 9 “The Ten Percent Solution” in which the leader of a Neo-Nazi revolution destroys papers that are historical documents proving that they had stolen art from a family in Poland among other people.  This of course is the same in our own nonfictional history as that is basically what happened to a lot of real people throughout Europe in the 1940’s.  That being said while the Avatar franchise is fiction I find it beyond appalling that such a thing happened and was not fixed as it defiantly could have been given the unique nature of the series.

So, on the grounds that this is a children’s series and I find the act of what the writers did to be morally questionable in this case.  I say reconnect the next Avatar to the past lives or forever we will see you as committing an act as bad as I have described.  With that all said I write this petition to the writers and producers of the Avatar: The Last Air-bender Franchise to make them undo what has been done or at least fix it.  Basically you have to in the next spin off series that I know you are planning to do at some point you have to create a plot where the new avatar reconnects with the past Avatars restoring the connection for his or her own self and those to follow.  I therefore as all who have read this petition to sign it and help me make this a reality.  Thank you, and may such an atrocious plot-line never be seen in a children’s series again.
