Hello everyone, I am setting up this petition for all the pet owners out there who are finding it impossible to get a home in Ireland due to the discrimination against pet owners. In the last few years more and more landlords and almost all the auctioneers automatically put “NO PETS” when advertising their properties with no alternatives and with little regard to the over-priced rents, location, or state of the property. In many other countries pets are classed as an important part of the family, with childless and single individuals seeing their pets as their only family. This discrimination is leading to more abandoned domesticated animals and more and more people ending up on the homeless lists. WE NEED to demand that the government give pets and their humans equal rights. Landlords should not be allowed to discriminate against any family, no matter if they are on two legs or four.
