Rescind his decision to remove Maureen Keegan from Colebrook High

The Issue

As Parents, students and taxpayers in the community, we are shocked and dismayed by the events of the last week. First year Executive Director, Michael Baldassarre, has made an extremely poor decision and clearly mismanaged Colebrook High School’s excellent employee structure.

At the top of this structure is the Program Administrator, Maureen Keegan of over 25+ years.  On September 3rd, Maureen was abruptly removed from her position and placed on administrative leave by Mr. Baldassarre.  No information in regards to his decision has been provided to students, faculty or parents.

It is clear that Mr. Baldassarre has an extreme lack of knowledge when it comes to child development and the need for a consistent environment for children with special education needs.  Maureen is the anchor to Colebrook High for students, parents and co-workers.

During her time at Colebrook, she has positively affected thousands of student’s lives and the thought of her being removed is simply unimaginable. It is imperative that she is allowed to return back to school.

We are requesting for Mr. Baldassarre's decision to be revoked and for the Board of Directors to further review Mr. Baldassarre's choices and whether or not he is the best choice as the Executive Director for CASE Collaborative.

Update:  You can hear the first 30 minutes of the Board of Directors meeting where some of the students and parents had an opportunity to speak. They were limited to 3 minutes, could not talk about personnel, use any names nor have a back and forth discussion.
