Westwood Unidos, is a non-profit organization in the Southwest Denver neighborhood. We are starting a petition and hope to gain support from local residents and other partners to make Drinking Water Week official in the City of Denver. We would like to count on you and sign the petition requesting Denver’s Mayor to proclaim May 5-11, 2019 as Drinking Water Week.
For more than 40 years, American Water Works Association and its members have celebrated Drinking Water Week, a unique opportunity for both water professionals and the communities they serve to join together in recognizing the vital role water plays in daily lives. You may find additional information about the association at www.awwa.org, and a list of other cities who are already part of the movement such as City of Longmont and City of Westminster.
The purpose is to commemorate the week: Water utilities, water organizations, government entities, environmental advocates, schools and other stakeholders will celebrate the importance of drinking water through presentations, events and festivals to provide information on how consumers can understand and appreciate their water.

Can we count on you? Here are the ways you can sign:

1. You can sign as an organization the petition form, similar to the one we are requesting the Mayor to sign to demonstrate your support.
2. Or you can sign individually the online petition. Let us know if you would like to meet to talk about opportunities to get involved.
