Oct 13 Calusa Community Caravan and Oct 29 BCC hearing date
Join us Tues Oct 13 at 6pm for our second Save Calusa caravan. Meet at Calusa Elementary School at 6pm, then drive around the former Calusa golf course. Let’s continue to fight to protect our 99-yr Covenant & 168 acres of green space in the heart of our community.
The Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners (BCC) has scheduled the Calusa public zoning hearing for Oct 29 at 9am. It will be a virtual hearing. We will be posting instructions on how to register to speak, and how to watch the hearing on our website www.savecalusa.org
We will have a virtual community town hall to answer questions about the Calusa controversy, explain how to register to speak at the hearing, and how the zoom format will work on Thursday Oct 22 at 7pm.
It is critical that we each Sign up, Speak up, and Show up to compel our commissioners to protect our Covenant and community. This is our chance to have our voices heard, before the commissioners vote on whether to release our Covenant or not! We must show strength by showing that as a community we stand together AGAISNT releasing our Covenant and AGAINST developing 550+ houses on the former Calusa Golf Course.
