Did you know the proposed entrance to the new gated 550 home community is on SW 97th street (off of SW 127th ave)? Attached is a picture of this street on the east side of Calusa Club Drive. Do you think this street can handle 300-500 more cars during peak hours? What about Calusa Club Drive? The estimated number of total return car trips per day is 4,820!!
The two houses at the end of this street (9800 and 9810 E Calusa Club Drive) would be bulldozed so they can add a gated entrance to the new proposed community.
This type of large-scale development cannot simply be "inserted" into the middle of our community without long-term impacts to traffic, pedestrianism, transit access, and quality of life!
We don't have a hearing date yet, so now is the perfect time to ensure all neighbors are informed and engaged to Save Calusa!
