Why this petition matters
Purpose:
As a concerned resident in Calusa or a surrounding community of the proposed project, please sign this petition if you STRONGLY OPPOSE the approval of a large scale development in Calusa on our 168 acres of green space due to the long-term impact it would have on residents' quality of life, our environment, wildlife, schools, infrastructure and traffic.
Recent Zoning History:
On October 29, 2020 the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners, through Resolution Z-21-20, approved the release of the Calusa Golf Course from the 99 year Covenant. On February 18, 2021 the owner/developer submitted an application to build 550 single-family homes on the approximately 168 acres of green space in Calusa (Kendall/West Kendall).
Who we are:
The Save Calusa group is a grassroots neighbor-led volunteer advocacy group formed of Calusa homeowners/residents who are dedicated to protecting our community.
