Unconfirmed reports indicate Commissioner Javier Souto may be backpedaling on his attempt to incorporate major portions of District 10 into a new municipality. The below document obtained by residents appears to indicate that Commissioner Souto has decided to seek a repeal of the ordinance which established the Westchester Municipal Advisory Committee. If such a repeal does pass, it would be an enormous win for residents. The repeal legislation appears to be slated for consideration by the Board of County Commissioners during their April 5, 2022 meeting but the official agenda has not yet been released to confirm. Updates will be posted about the repeal and the meetings as they come in but everyone should pencil-in that date to come to the Commission meeting to make sure the repeal passes.
