On September 22, 2021, Wednesday, in Hialeah, Fl., a horrific and violent act of animal cruelty was intentionally committed by Kenny HumbertoAmaro against his neighbor's dog, Rocky. The Hidalgo family had adopted this terrier mix from MDAS. Amaro lured this defenseless pup into his murderous hands, used his belt to place it around Rocky's neck, strangled him, flinging him in the air, and finally tied him to a street sign. He then continued to bang and scream at the neighbor's door like a mad man, acting as if the dog had attacked. Thanks to a nearby surveillance camera, the appalling act showed differently.

Amaro was arrested and went before Judge Rebull, who set bail at $25,000,00 and electronic monitoring under house arrest. He plead not guilty by reason that "Pit Bulls" were dangerous animals. Immediately thereafter, the Chief State Attorney. Kathleen Hogue, upped the charges to 1 count of intentional animal cruelty, this being a Felony. Under Sec.5-4-Cruelty to animals (Miami Dade County) and Florida Statutes 828 Section 12, 828.13 and 828.16. This was an intentional premeditated act on an animal that resulted in its cruel and untimely death. There was more than substantial excessive and repeated inflictions of unnecessary pain and suffering to this sentient animal, or to cause the same to be done.

WE HEREBY DEMAND that the defendant be prosecuted to the fullest extent and in accordance with the highest civil penalties and maximum sentence afforded by law.

Animal cruelty is at an all-time high, and it's time to stop the slap on the wrists and slap the defendants/aggressors with mandatory, lengthy jail time, heavy fines, and placed on a nationwide animal cruelty registry so they may never own or be near any animal ever again! If we don't protect our 4 legged family members by interpreting the laws in favor of the innocent, then tell us who will? We await his sentencing and will be glad when he is permanently behind bars. R.I.P. Rocky and our sincere condolences to the Hidalgo family.
