Punawale a home to more than 1lakh people have a beautiful forest area next to it. PCMC is planning garbage dump here, by destroying the forest area.

Large trees would have to be cut to set up the garbage depot. This will affect day to day life of all the residents. This area has big residential projects, schools, colleges and one of India's biggest Hinjewadi IT park nearby.The garbage depot would be around 1km from the Ravet bund, from where the PCMC and the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation draw water to supply to the entire city.

We urge all the environment lovers to stand against this decision.
