The Issue

A sitting Mexican governor. A senator. A mayor. Ten current and former Mexican officials in total.

All of them have been indicted by the United States for allegedly working with the Sinaloa cartel — one of the world's most powerful and violent drug trafficking organizations — to flood American communities with fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine.

This is not a minor corruption case. The indictment alleges these officials accepted bribes to protect drug shipments, tipped off traffickers about police raids and in one case handed a DEA informant and his family over to the cartel. They were killed.

Fentanyl is killing tens of thousands of Americans every year. It is destroying families and communities across the country. And according to US prosecutors, the people running the state of Sinaloa were helping make it happen.

Mexico must extradite these officials and let American courts hold them accountable. Sovereignty is not a shield for cartel corruption. Elected officials who allegedly helped traffic deadly drugs into the United States should face justice — regardless of what party they belong to or what office they hold.

We are calling on Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum to cooperate fully with the US extradition requests and hand over the indicted officials now.

Sign this petition and tell Mexico: cartel corruption has consequences. Extradite them.
