All for H.R.1511 - To amend section 249 of the Immigration and Nationality Act to render available to certain long-term residents of the United States the benefit under that section.We need your help to get Members of Congress to support an update to the Immigration Registry cutoff date. Currently, people that have been continuously present in the U.S. since before January 1, 1972 and meet other requirements, can be granted "registry" for lawful permanent resident status at the discretion of the Secretary of Homeland Security. This registry was first codified in law in 1929 and has been modified various times by Congress. The most recent change was by President Reagan's Administration in 1986, bringing the registry date up to 1972.

 

 

 

We need our Senators to introduce this bill to the Senate! 

Please take action to get Congress to support an update to the immigration registry date by taking the following actions:

Write your Members of Congress to ask them to sign on and support H.R. 1511 to update the immigration registry date.
Write your Senators to ask them to introduce this bill in the Senate.
Call your Members of Congress to ask them to sign on and support H.R. 1511 to update the immigration registry date and to introduce this bill in the Senate.

H.R.1511 - Para enmendar la sección 249 de la Ley de Inmigración y Nacionalidad para poner a disposición de ciertos residentes a largo plazo de los Estados Unidos el beneficio bajo esa sección.Necesitamos su ayuda para que los miembros del Congreso apoyen una actualización de la fecha límite del Registro de Inmigración. Actualmente, a las personas que han estado continuamente presentes en los EE.UU. desde antes del 1 de enero de 1972 y que cumplen con otros requisitos, se les puede otorgar el "registro" para el estatus de residente permanente legal a discreción del Secretario de Seguridad Nacional.
