June 16th is the anniversary of Rich Koz portraying the Svengoolie character on TV, starting in 1979 (as Son of Svengoolie), yet the mad stupidity of his show goes unrecognized in the global community.

To get all drippy and droolie, for over 40 years, Svengoolie—a camp-horror/sci-fi pillar—has been hit by more rubber chickens than is fathomable while yelling about some mythical and magical place known as Berwyn, and providing film commentary unmatched by any BluRay extras. Someone tell Ray he’s fired, smurf or not.

He once “borrowed” the hearse that was transporting my great aunt. She didn’t mind.
