The Wilpons have completely torched any hope of a new future by refusing to relinquish control of the Mets.  Steve Cohen, a man with a true interest in spending money and making the Organization better was driven away by the dead end Wilpons. And their refusal to let the team go earlier than a 5 year transition period.
