MTA, you made a big mistake giving the R179 contract to Bombardier. You expected them to deliver 300 subway cars by the end of 2015 and so far, 0 cars out of the 300 have been delivered yet. Although the C train has slightly improved from its previous state, its rating is down the barrel. The C train's R32s are extremely slow, and 207th St and Pitkin Yards do not take care of the trains as good as Coney Island and Jamaica Yard did. The J train has a majority of these R32s now, but the J train works hard with them, unlike with the C's R160s. Honestly, the R160s on the C were a bad idea, and it's even worse that the upcoming R179s have been delayed for 4-5 years at least. As a subway reviewer, I find that the C train needs new equipment ASAP. However, these trains that are going on the C are not going to be delivered until 2020. MTA, please do us all a favor and do not give Bombardier the contract for the R211s. The R211 would take ages to deliver if Bombardier was given the contract. Bombardier got orders from Flexities from TTC that Bombardier isn't doing too well with either. It seems like all Bombardier cares about these days is BART. MTA, don't fall into this trap again with Bombardier. If enough people support this, then the MTA will not give the contract to Bombardier, so the MTA needs to see this right away.
