The Bonifacio and Katipunan Revolution Monument or also known as Bonifacio Monument is one of the Historical landmarks in Metro Manila and was dedicated to Filipino Revolutionary, Andres Bonifacio and the Katipunan’s role in the Philippine Revolution. The monument is said to be an important monument to the people because it represents our sacrifice to defend the Philippines from other countries that wants to conquer us, it also represents the Filipino freedom from the Spaniards troops, it happened when Andres Bonifacio ordered his men to break the contract between the Spain and the Philippines. The Bonifacio and Katipunan Revolution Monument has historical value that cannot be replaced.

Near KKK or the Bonifacio and Katipunan Revolution Monument, there are street vendors . The problem is that the vendors do not observe cleanliness near their surroundings causing sticky sidewalks, trash nearby the monument and the odor near the KKK is not that appealing for the people or pedestrian walking near the monument. Another problem is that they do not know how to segregate trash properly.

We wanted to help solve these problems so we came up with a proposal that can help ease these problems especially the sticky floors. We want to show them that we also respect it’s value and especially on what they’ve done for our country. So, by giving those proper spots a through clean-up and guiding the vendors on having a proper garbage disposal, we can make the surroundings of the monument clean and it is a win-win scenario for all of us.

We address this petition to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to relocate the vendors to proper vending location since vendors cause congestion and waste generation in the area. We also suggest that each vending location has its own trash bin that has the 3 R’s so that the garbage collection will not be difficult. congestion and waste generation in the area.
