Say "No" to Nashville Mayor Cooper's 32% Property Tax Increase

The Issue

Nashville mayor John Cooper (D) has proposed a 32% property tax increase for Nashville residents to try and combat the economic catastrophe caused by COVID-19 and the March tornado.

This comes after a mandatory stay at home order that has put thousands of Nashvillians out of work and struggling financially, as well as creates additional economic hardship for small businesses who have yet to even receive their EIDL loan and now will have added financial pressure of keeping their doors open.

This tax increase will hurt the Nashville community it proclaims to aim to help.  Nashville housing and property costs are already through the roof, topping most of the nation in cost of living.  He has threatened city council members who oppose this opposition with "mass layoffs".  This giant governmental overstep needs to be stopped.
