In 2009, a direct to video re-cut of the pilot episode of Stargate SG-1 was released. Stargate SG-1: Children of the Gods - Final Cut fixed many of the inconsistencies in character, tone, voice, music, and more that were present in the original version of the episode. It also made the episode accessible to families, bringing it closer to the family-friendly nature of the rest of the series, including Stargate: Atlantis.

Since that time, the Final Cut appears to have been largely ignored by MGM Studios. It isn't even available on their new Stargate Command subscription service, that claims to have all of the episodes and movies available (this fact makes that claim a false one).

I would love to be have the option to digitally buy the first season of Stargate SG-1 with the superior Final Cut of Children of the Gods, and not have the original, inconsistent cut included at all.

I know there are those that, for the sake of history, would like to see both versions included. For them, the show is already available with the original cut. A digital release of Children of the Gods: Final Cut, also available to buy as a separate episode or movie would work as well.

I don't think this is asking for much. A lot of money was spent in getting the final cut put together, including new music, special effects, recordings of new and replacement dialog and editing, graphic design, etc.

In short: Please release Stargate SG-1: Children of the Gods - Final Cut, digitally, both alone, and as an optional replacement (for those that want it) for a full season 1 that would only include the Final Cut.

Please include the Final Cut on Stargate Command as well.

Let's not ignore that this cut exists.
