During the time of the mass release in 2021, there is heavy foam concentrate in the creek. The creek flows into the Elk River, where the American Water intake is located. I was able to track the foam downstream, from the leaking well to the elk river.
West Virginia DEP has not released any information regarding the testing done with the water samples. This subject was pushed very hard and currently DEP has still yet to give any information of what this substance is and why it is still seen in the creek collecting along the banks. The reason there is heavy concentration of foam in the creek is because gas is removed from water by air moving through the water. This process is called aeration. With my history and certifications this is very abnormal event that is still occurring. Where I have tracked it from the well I have photographic evidence of the foam flowing out of the ground which seems to be the source of origin. We want clear answers WVDEP.
