Wow — what an incredible way to head into Christmas.
Thanks to your support, the Revive Mitcham Eastfields petition has now reached 1,023 signatures. To put that into perspective, according to the 2021 Census, the local area around Mitcham Eastfields has around 9,000 residents. That means more than 1 in 10 people locally have already signed.
That is a powerful mandate — and it shows just how strongly people feel about better trains, a safer and more vibrant town centre, and greener, better-looked-after public spaces.
What’s happening now
- Local councillors have been formally contacted
- Our MP, Dame Siobhain McDonagh, has written on residents’ behalf to open dialogue with Network Rail
- Leonie Cooper AM is also aware of the petition
- We are now awaiting further responses from councillors so we can push this to the next stage
What comes next
Once we hear back from councillors or receive further responses, we plan to take this to the media to raise awareness even further and make sure Mitcham Eastfields’ voice is heard loud and clear.
Please keep sharing
Even though we’ve passed 1,000 signatures, this absolutely doesn’t stop here. The more people who sign, the more pressure there is for real action.

We’ll be back with more updates soon.
