Shawn Garrett started this petition to Merriam-Webster, inc

with a lot of foreigners struggling to learn the American version of the English language as well as countless school children struggling to spell words correctly, I say it is time to eliminate the letter C from most words.

If a word needs a K sound we can use a K, such as Kake.

if the word needs an S sound we simply replace it with an S, such as kritisism.

some words such as chocolate might still need the c next to the letter h, but could easily be spelled chokolate.

this change will undoubtedly help with spelling tests for young school children and in return help their self confidence.  this will be reflected in better scores as well as possible behavior overall.

immigrants trying to learn our language will have a much much simpler time adjusting to our American language and lifestyle.  No doubt helping them feel a part of this great country even sooner.
