Change Merriam-Webster dictionary’s definition of Jihad

The Issue

The promotion of Islamophobia is becoming more and more common in today’s society. Every day muslims all over the world have to defend their religion and prove that they aren’t a threat. Islam is a religion of peace. How can we change the way people perceive Islam if they seek information and find things like this. Jihad does NOT mean holy war waged for Islam. It is any personal or spiritual struggle we might face. Trying to quit smoking cigarettes can be your Jihad. Trying to be more consistent in praying can be your Jihad. To label the word Jihad as a “holy war” is blatant Islamophobia and discrimination.

Change the definition in the dictionary to what it ACTUALLY is. A personal or spiritual struggle.

I reached out to google a couple years ago to have them change their definition of Jihad because they had the same error. Although I remember it being changed, I have come to find that it is once again displayed incorrectly with reference to the Merriam-Webster dictionary’s definition giving the falsehood validity. We can’t allow these blatant lies to plague our society any longer. Help me change it!
