The Mercer County Animal Shelter in Princeton, WV has been under quarantine since 10/30/14 due to a litter of puppies that came in with Parvo. Volunteers from the shelter have stated these were the only animals affected by this virus. The quarantine was lifted 12/9/14 and rescuers have until 12/13/14 to pull the animals or secure a rescue commitment. Euthanasia would begin on Monday 12/15/14. That is only 4 business days. This is an inadequate time frame for rescuers to pull this many animals to safety or for the public to adopt them. We simply need more time to assist. We are asking for an extension at minimum of 10 days in order to save lives of these beautiful and healthy animals and appreciate all efforts to rescue.
