Hello Fellow Ukiah Animal Shelter Supporters, First and foremost, we want to thank you for signing our petition and joining our cause in keeping the Mendocino County Animal Care Services under Health and Human Services Agency and NOT integrated under law enforcement. Now, that we have reached 1,000 signatures and growing, we wanted to give all our supporters an update… We are in desperate need of people emailing in letters, mailing letters or hand delivering letters to the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors. We would also appreciate people calling the Board of Supervisors so you can voice your opinion to them. Not only are we looking for the community to DIRECTLY contact the Board of Supervisors about this issue, we also want people to be prepared to attend the Board of Supervisors meeting when this vote of whether to keep the shelter under Health and Human Services Agency or move it under the Sheriff’s Office takes place. The Board of Supervisors needs to be aware of the public sentiment and its support of Mendocino County Animal Care Services remaining under the management of Mendocino County Health and Human Services Agency. We will send another update when this issue will be on the Board of Supervisors Agenda. If all the locals who have signed this petition sent in letters as well as were present during this meeting, I strongly believe we can prevent this turnover from happening. We truly believe that Mendocino County Animal Care Services under Health and Human Services is running efficiently, effectively and compassionately and thus that is where it should stay.
